You’ve been doing this since primary school, but here we are. Start with a clean, dry surface. Dust, grease and moisture are the quickest way to waste a good sticker.

1. Give the spot a proper wipe and let it dry completely.
2. Peel the sticker away from its backing. Try not to paw at the sticky side.
3. Line it up before you commit, then place one edge down first.
4. Press from the middle out with your fingers or a clean card to push out trapped air.
5. Run around the edges once more and make sure the whole thing is stuck down.

That’s it. No iron, no transfer sheet and no mucking around.

• Make sure the surface is properly dry before you start
