We are teaming up with the Zero Suicide Awareness Program in Canberra on the 19th of November to raise awareness of male suicide on the lawn of Parliament house.
On International Mens Day 2023, we will be gathering at Parliament House along with various other speakers and organisations. Lay a pair of shoes for your fallen and join in the walk around the shoes in memory and listen to some of the speeches.
This is the largest visual perspective of mens suicide in the world
Each shoe is linked to an Australian man who tragically took his own life in 2023, and is accompanied with a note to the public. Heavy topic we know, but if it takes putting this on the main stage of government to start seeing some change Blokes Advice will be there with bells on.
The opening ceremony will kick off at 10am followed by some speeches & talks - including one from us representing societal masculinity in this discussion.
The Memorial Walk will start at midday, followed by more talks until we wrap it up at 3:30pm.
