Not Feeling Like Yourself Lately?

It Might Be Stress. It Might Be Age. Or it might be low testosterone.

Blokes will get told to check their skin. Check their heart. Check their nut sack. Check that mole. Check that chest pain. Check that weird lump.

But when a bloke feels flat, foggy, tired, moody, low on drive, or just not like himself anymore, most people don’t say a word about testosterone.

They just call it stress. Or age. Or having kids. Or working too hard. Or “just life.”

And sometimes it is... But sometimes it isn’t.

1 in 4 men

over 20 have low testosterone & more than 40% of men aged 45+ experience it

The signs a lot of blokes brush off

A lot of men who end up getting checked say the same sort of thing:

“I’m just not firing.”
“I’m tired all the time.”
“I’ve got no drive.”
“My head’s foggy.”
“My libido’s fallen off a cliff.”
“I thought I was just getting older.”

Common symptoms

  • Low energy & fatigue
  • Poor concentration
  • Feeling flat / irritable
  • Reduced motivation
  • Low libido
  • Erectile issues
  • Packing on the fat
  • Struggling with sleep

Who can be affected?

Low testosterone isn’t just an “old bloke” issue. More men are affected than most people realise, and a lot of them go undiagnosed because the symptoms get blamed on everything else.

Some studies suggest as many as 90% remain undiagnosed.

What getting checked actually involves:

This is where a lot of blokes switch off because they think it’ll be a pain in the arse.

It doesn’t have to be.

We went & got checked ourselves (results down below)... & we went with an Aussie company called Hormn, which is built by doctors who actually understand men, & make the process as easy as humanly possibly + you can get results within 24 hours.

In plain English, the process looks like this:

1. You do a blood test: That’s the first step. You order a referral, then go into one of 10 000+ pathlogy labs, sit down for 5 minutes, then go home.

2. Your levels get reviewed properly: A proper assessment should look at more than just one testosterone number in isolation, like many GP's do it. People smarter than us evaluate what's going on in your body.

3. You're in the clear, or you speak to a doctor: You'll get sent your results & if you're in the normal range... you have peace of mind. If something’s off, that’s when you talk through it with their doc. Symptoms matter. Bloods matter. Your goals matter.

4. You only treat it if you want it: That’s the whole point. Get checked first. Then make decisions based on facts, not reels, gym bros or pub chat.

What is TRT?

TRT stands for Testosterone Replacement Therapy.

It’s a medical treatment used when a man’s testosterone levels are genuinely low and that deficiency is causing symptoms.

In simple terms, if your body isn’t making enough testosterone, TRT is a way of replacing it to bring your levels back into a healthy range under medical supervision. It is not the same as blasting steroids for muscle or performance. Proper testosterone therapy is about treating a deficiency, not turning you into a bodybuilder.

This page isn't about jumping on TRT, it's about getting checked.

If you want to hear firsthand about TRT, & more about testosterone in general, we did a podcast with Professor André van Zundert unpacking all the myths, misconceptions, & questions you might have before jumping into getting checked.

Why “I got tested by my GP and they said I’m fine” isn’t always the end of the story

To be fair, GPs do a lot of things well.

But one thing that came up repeatedly in our chat with Professor André van Zundert is that some men get told they’re “in range” while still feeling rubbish. There has been many examples of patients found with low free testosterone or symptoms despite being told they were acceptable by other doctors. He stressed that broader interpretation matters, including free testosterone, SHBG, LH and FSH, not just a single total testosterone figure.

That doesn’t mean your GP is useless.

It just means blokes hormones can be more complicated than one guy glancing at one box on one pathology report.

Rob's Results

Rob didn't particularly feel that he had any of the symptoms (& assures us his soldier was working efficiently)... but was that him blaming 'just getting older''?

Low & behold, results came in & his testosterone was sitting far below where a normal 35yr old bloke should be at.

After chats, he made the decision TRT was the right option & looks forward to seeing changes in his drive, better sleep & energy to do more with his kids.

Matty's Results

Matty's always had a bit of a struggle with concentration & sleep patterns, so jumped into getting checked to see if there was an underlying cause.

In short... no. His T levels were in the normal range, so further investigation wasn't required. At least it was one cause ticked off the culprit list.

The blood work did flag a few extra readings being borderline out-of-range like his cholesterol & red blood markers.

The bottom line

You’d get your skin checked. You’d get chest pain checked. You’d get a weird lump checked.

So if anything above hit home… Why wouldn’t you get this checked too?

We’re not here to tell you TRT is the answer for everyone, but we've seen blokes talking about testosterone levels for a long time & wanted to explore what it actually involves.

If you want an Aussie service that keeps the process simple, medical, and built around proper testing and doctor oversight, Hormn are the crew we’ve tried, tested and trust to help blokes take the first step... the costs are minimal, the time-outlay is negligible, and the potential upsides are massive.
