About Better Bloke
The Better Bloke Project is a registered Australian charity dedicated to promoting mental & physical well-being among Australian men.
Founded by individuals with first hand experience in running one of Australia’s largest all male online groups, the organisation aims to extend its impact by providing holistic information, training and resources while fostering a supportive community.
The Mission
The organisation distinguishes itself by being “average bloke led,” meaning that it is run by individuals who can relate to the experiences and challenges faced by the the men we represent.
Whilst we engage with health professionals, these services can often be seen as unrelatable. The Better Bloke approach helps create an environment where men feel comfortable seeking guidance and support, before taking that step.
The Vision
Each year we lose around 2500 men to suicide in Australia, and that number has been increasing in recent years.
With mental health awareness growing exponentially in the past decade, it seems unfathomable the numbers aren’t declining.
The Better Bloke approach is grounded in showcasing positive mental health, normalising the difficulties of a man’s life, and fostering a community where men can connect with one another.
