He’s one of Australia’s best drivers! He’s not a race car driver, truckie or even an Uber driver, we’re talking about GOLF!
Meet Matt Nicholls aka @mattybombs - the Aussie bloke (and B.A member) crushing it on the world stage and currently competing in the World Long Drive championship over in Atlanta.
It’s the sport that’s peaked the curiosity of every bloke that has ever crushed one off of the tee at a driving range. The objective is, smack the ball as far as you can but land it in the grid for it to count. Sounds easy right? WRONG! You only have 5 shots per round not entire bucket and the furthest shot in the grid is recorded.
Let’s put into perspective just how good this bloke is for the average punter. According to Australian Golf Digest, the average driving range is 200.76 metres. The goat, Tiger Woods, averaged 274m in his 21/22 season. MattyBombs, best during competition is a whopping 396 meters - dam near double the average and a hell of a long way further you us lot.
Matt has made it through to the second round after competing in the first round elimination yesterday against the best in the world.
